Father Mérer School

Father Mérer School was named after St. Albert's priest, Michel Mérer, OMI, at the time of the school's construction. The school is commonly called the Brick School. Construction of the school began in 1906 by George and Ed Poirier who were contractors. Father Mérer School was located on the northwest corner of Mission Park, on the hill just off St. Vital. The four room school was opened in 1909, used until 1958 and demolished in 1960.

Log barn on the Kluthe farm

Image shows the log barn built on the Kluthe farm ca. 1896 - 1898. The barn was made of three sections of 33" logs. It was demolished in 1970 and the logs were used to build a machine shed. Also shows John Kluthe and his two sisters (most likely Millie and Theresa).

Kluthe farmstead

Image shows the Kluthe farmyard with house; front section is original, built in 1894, back section was added later. Taken prior to 1914, when the whole house was raised and set onto a basement and a large kitchen was added. The house was used until 1949.
