Subseries consists of photographs of the Alberta portion of the official state visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Canada in 1978. The Queen toured Newfoundland, Saskatchewan, and finally Alberta. The Queen was accompanied by Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince Andrew, and The Prince Edward. On August 3, 1978, The Queen officially opened the 1978 Commonwealth Games held in Edmonton, which took place from August 3 - 12, 1978. The photographs in this subseries covers The Queen's stay in Alberta from July 31 - August 6, 1978.
