1979 Annexation attempt on St. Albert collection
This collection contains records pertaining to the annexation attempt of St. Albert by Edmonton between 1979-1981. Records include photographs and materials from anti-annexation events, Local Authorities Board hearing transcripts, and reports and studies on the proposed annexation.
The fonds consists of photographic negatives corresponding with Father Pratt's schooling and work for the period 1918 to about 1940. The identified locations of the photographs include Edmonton, AB, Saddle Lake, AB, Cold Lake, AB, Onion Lake, SK, Frog Lake, AB, North Battleford, SK, and Fort Resolution, NWT. Some of the photographs have not been identified. The files are arranged according to the location in which Father Pratt worked. The photographs capture aboriginal and non-aboriginal families, children at residential schools, and events in the communities. The photographs also pertain to events of priests and brothers such as visits and seminary life as well as photographs of the missions.
