File consists of records pertaining to the Opening ceremony of Thelma Chalifoux school in Edmonton on 12 May 2022. Records include a copy of the invitation to the opening, part of the ribbon that was cut at the opening ceremony, and a booklet for the opening ceremony. The booklet contains a message from the Board of Trustees and Superintendent of Edmonton Public Schools, a biography of Thelma Chalifoux, a program of the opening ceremony, images of the school, and an acknwledgment of members of the school staff, board of trustees, and the Integrated Project Delivery team.
Collection consists of records pertaining to Thelma Chalifoux. Thelma Chalifoux was a senator and Metis activist in Alberta, she was the founder of the Michif Cultural Connections in St. Albert to preserve and promote Metis culture in Alberta. Records in the collection include items from the opening ceremony of the Thelma Chalifoux school in Edmonton.
Series consists of photographs of the public memorials by members of the St. Albert community at the St. Albert Healing Garden when the unmarked graves at the Kamloops Residential School came to light in Canada in 2021. Since this event, many other unmarked graves have been identified in many residential schools across Canada.
Depicts stones painted orange placed in the grass at the Healing Garden. There are drawings and writings on some of the stones including a drawing of a bison and notes "Respect, love", "Intelagint [sic], all knowing, wisdom, 215", "We will always [pray] and remember the 215 children", "Truth" and an outline of a turtle.
Depicts memorial items on the bench in the Healing Garden pavilion, including stuffed animals and toys, shoes, flowers, and painted stones. The five pavilion columns have pink and orange ribbons tied around them along with handwritten notes and flowers attached. The pavilion has a wooden sign that reads "Kakesimokamik."
