Custodial history

The records were in the custody of Dan Bouvier and passed on to his family who kept the records for some time and made a recording for Dan Bouvier's wedding anniversary. The family donated the records to the Musée.

Scope and content

Series contains master discs of National Film Board recordings. Damase Bouvier was contracted by the National Film Board to make recordings of francophone people in rural Alberta.

Disc quality deteriorates with each playback.

Arrangement

The discs were arranged alphabetically by region of the recording. The order used by Damase Bouvier is unknown. There were numbers assigned by Bouvier to each record as well as numbers and notes written on the records by his family.
